The story behind the agency
Adam Yong started practising SEO in 2005, just as Google's first major algorithm shifts began separating real operators from keyword-stuffers. He spent six years inside Malaysian SMEs, watching the same expensive pattern repeat: retainers that delivered traffic but no revenue, agencies that reported on rankings but never on pipeline, and owners who'd been burned twice before they ever spoke to him.
In 2011 Adam launched Adam SEO out of Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, with one rule: every deliverable ties back to a measurable business outcome. That rule shaped the proprietary 4-Stage 9-Step Framework, which sits at the centre of every retainer we run today.
By 2024 we'd documented our most public case study — taking a Malaysian online store from 5,000 to 15,000 organic monthly visitors and from RM 80,000 to RM 307,000 in monthly revenue over a 10-month engagement. In September 2025 we expanded the methodology to include AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), because search behaviour is no longer the exclusive property of Google's blue links.
The 4-Stage 9-Step Framework
Most agencies sell SEO as a single stream: keywords, content, links, repeat. We split it into four stages because each one solves a different problem, and skipping any of them is why most retainers underperform.
- Stage 1 – Analysis. 80/20 business audit, Ahrefs and SEMrush keyword research, competitor analysis, ranking baseline, technical SEO audit.
- Stage 2 – Conversion Rate Optimization. Website design optimisation, speed, social proof, opt-in forms. Embedded, not optional.
- Stage 3 – On & Off-Page Optimization. Meta tags, internal linking, content production, tailored link building.
- Stage 4 – Re-Engagement. Remarketing ads, monthly reporting, ongoing CRO testing. The compounding stage.
Stage 2 (CRO) is what separates this from a generic SEO retainer. Without it, the traffic Stage 3 produces lands on a leaky page and you've paid for visitors who never converted.
Documented results
We don't promise rankings, because Google's terms forbid honest agencies from doing so. What we do promise is documentation. Every engagement carries a monthly performance report that leads with revenue, not vanity metrics.
