We've Officially Expanded Into AEO and GEO — AI Search Visibility for Malaysian Brands

In September 2025 we made a deliberate change to the Adam SEO methodology — we officially added AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) to the 4-Stage Framework that has run every retainer since 2018.

This isn’t a tactical addition. It’s a strategic recognition that search behaviour has shifted in a way that won’t reverse.

What changed

Roughly 30% of buyer queries that used to land on Google’s blue-link results now route through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, or Google’s own AI Overviews. The number is higher for technical research queries, lower for transactional queries, but the trajectory is one-way. Brands building AI-citation share over the next 12-18 months will lock in defensible positions.

Why we waited until September 2025

We could have launched AEO/GEO services earlier, around the time ChatGPT first stabilised at scale. We deliberately waited until the methodology was repeatable, the tooling was mature, and we had measurable client results.

The strategic bet behind this

Two things are true at the same time. First, traditional SEO is not dying — Google still represents the majority of search behaviour in Malaysia, and brands without strong blue-link rankings will struggle regardless of AI visibility. Second, AI-search is the next frontier, and the brands that ignore it for another year will find themselves invisible in the engines their buyers actually use.

Our methodology now reflects both truths. We don’t accept “traditional SEO only” engagements anymore — every retainer at least baselines AI visibility, even when the active work focuses on Google rankings.
